I just installed Blank Canvas v1.12.05b, but I can't get it to work in my primary Gmail account - i.e., the only one I actually want it to work in. I have 3 gmail accounts, 2 of which I import into my primary gmail account. Blank Canvas works in my two secondary accounts, but the Blank Canvas buttons and drop-down box do not appear when I compose a new email in my primary gmail account. The first time I installed it, I was logged into a secondary email account, which I thought might be the cause. So I uninstalled Blank Canvas, restarted Firefox, logged into my primary Gmail account, and reinstalled Blank Canvas. But it still only works in my two secondary Gmail accounts. I also uninstalled two Gmail-related add-ons, BetterGmail2 and GmailNotifier, but the problem still persists. Here is the requested information:
Any advice or suggestions would be welcome! I can't think of anything that's different between my primary Gmail account and my secondary accounts that would allow Blank Canvas to work in the secondaries but not the primary. Ideas? |

I see you have NoScript running. Have you tried allowing scripts as described here? Have you tried enabling JavaScript alert debugging as described here? Other than that, I'm not sure what to tell you for the moment. If you can figure out any differences between the account that's working and the ones that are, let me know here and I will do my best to figure out what's going on. |

Jerome - thanks for the tips. But I had already done both - googleapis.com is in my NoScript White List, and I had already set the BlankCanvas Debug options as you described. Besides, I'm switching between Gmail accounts within the same browser window, and within a matter of seconds I will either get the BlankCanvas drop-down boxes in my secondary accounts or not get the BlankCanvas drop-down boxes in my primary account. So it can't be a browser issue.
I've gone through all my settings and the only things that differed between my primary and my secondary accounts were that I had a theme set in my primary account, and also had enabled the options to check and send mail as my secondary accounts within my primary account. However, I opened one of my secondary accounts, set the same theme (tree, if that makes a difference), added my other two Gmail accounts to both "check email" and "send mail as". Yet when I hit "Compose Mail" the BlankCanvas app still pops up, whereas it still doesn't in my primary Gmail account.
Is there anything else Gmail-account-specific that could be causing it to work in some accounts but not others? |

Just wanted to add this extra data point after reading another thread. I also tried installing BlankCanvas on another computer also running Firefox and ran into the same problem: works in my two secondary accounts but not my primary. |

check and see if it's the same version of Gmail on all three accounts (see announcement about reporting bugs for details about how to find this.) We just need to figure out what the difference is. |

Hello, I've just opened another Gmail account, and realised I needed help managing my sigs. I found your app., and the description and reviews make it sound perfect! I have two gmail accounts simultaneously open on different browsers (Firefox and Chrome). So I installed BlankCanvas onto both browsers. I read your forum suggestions and tried: diss/re-enabling, re-installing, JavaScript alerts etc. all with no effect. So, I decided the '> Forums > Bug Reports > Signature options do not show up at all' thread was the most appropriate for my symptoms, untill filling in the requested info (below), you asked if I already have any "send as" addresses set up, that made me wonder... I logged out of both accounts, then logged into each account on the other browser. Now I had exactly the same problem that stayed with the Gmail account, not the browser; and the only significant difference between the two accounts is the one that doesn't work has 3 "send as" accounts already set up, the other has none. I'm reluctant to delete all of the "send as" accounts (I'll need to find some of the passwords to get back into them to re-enable them if BCsig doesn't work), but I hope this information helps you track the fault down. Firefox - 1.12.06b Firefox - 3.6 Not sure what 'Google Apps' are, so I guess I'm using regular Gmail. "gmail_fe_647_p13" - taken from gmail on Firefox. Don't know how to identify version on Chrome. Firefox - No Yes, 3 accounts on the gmail address that doen't work, none on the other. Firefox - en-GB Firefox - English (US) Firefox - Java Console 6.0.16; QLDP 1.3.1 Windows 7 Ultimate (where do I find a version?). 6GB i7 - 2.67GHz Cheers,
